The Patch Lady 2

Custom Sewing & Embroidery

The possibilities are endless…

History

Many years ago, my mother purchased an embroidery machine. My brother-in-law asked her to make a patch for him. He wore it to his bike club meeting, and his fellow bikers started asking mom to make patches for them as well. As they wore their patches to biker events, more and more clubs started asking her to make their patches. Eventually, she had a thriving patch business along with the sewing and alterations she’d been doing for years.

In early 2021 we were talking and she was saying she needed to cut back on her time in the sewing room, but didn’t want to let her patch customers down. I’d been looking for a way to make money from home, so I asked if she could teach me to make patches. I opened my patch business May 2021 and started filling some of her patch orders. As the year progressed, she kept sending me more of her orders. The first of 2022 she announced she had officially retired from making patches.

After I became comfortable with patch making, I went back home and learned even more embroidery skills from my mom as well as refreshed my sewing skills. Each year, I go back home and learn more skills that I can use to grow my business and offer more services.
